Bruno Fichefeux

Head of Future Programmes, Airbus

Bruno Fichefeux has been appointed Head of Future Programmes in January 2024. In this position he leads the design of the next generation of airliners with a clear focus on the decarbonisation of the aviation industry.


He was previously the Head of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) programme and was member of the Airbus Defence and Space Executive Committee since January 2022. At Airbus, he has been managing the FCAS programme, Europe’s largest future defence cooperation project between France, Germany and Spain, since 2018.


Before assuming his current duties, he held a number of senior management positions at Airbus.
From 2014 to 2018, he was Head of Aerostructures for Airbus Defence and Space in Seville, Spain. In that capacity, his unit was responsible for delivering high-end carbon-fibre aerostructures as suppliers to various airplane manufacturers worldwide.


Before that, Bruno Fichefeux was leading the Final Assembly Line for the C295 military transport aircraft in Seville from 2014 to 2016.


From 2009 to 2013, Bruno Fichefeux was Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer and Head of CEO Office at Airbus Defence and Space. Subsequently, from 2013 to 2014, he was Lead Project Manager to define and implement the division’s restructuring by merging three distinct business segments into one single entity.


He started his career at Airbus in 2005 as Project Engineer on the A400M programme. One year later, in 2006, he moved on to become Business Developer for Unmanned Aerial Systems.
Bruno Fichefeux is married with 5 children.
